Your dentist (such as Barry Groder DDS) always tells you to make sure that you brush your teeth every morning and night. Making sure that you have a toothbrush that is perfect for you will make it more likely that you won't see brushing as just a chore that has to be done, but something that makes you feel much better.

How to Choose the Right Toothbrush

Look at the bristles: The bristles are probably the most important part of your toothbrush. That's because without them, the toothbrush is pretty much useless. You are looking for soft bristles that have a nice rounded tip. Harder bristles with blunt ends can scratch or damage your teeth, and can cause your gums to bleed. The soft bristles can help you to avoid that problem, even if you are a person who tends to brush rather hard. You also want to make sure that you get nylon bristles, because they will give you the best clean, and won't wear out too quickly.

Look at the head: Your teeth have all kinds of faces that need to be brushed. That means that you need to find a toothbrush that will fit nicely into your mouth so that you can get all those areas nice and clean. Ideally, you are looking for a smaller head so that you can get those back teeth easier. There are several different styles of toothbrush head, so you can find one fits your mouth well. The best way to tell that it fits your mouth well is that you can easily reach the back molars. You might want to watch yourself when you are brushing your teeth when a new toothbrush to make sure you are getting those teeth.

Look for a comfortable handle: You want a handle that fits your hand well and that feels comfortable. You may want to try to a toothbrush with a chunkier handle since it will be easier to hold. You may also want to consider a brush that has a rubberized grip. If you can get a better hold on your toothbrush, you can do a better job of brushing your teeth.

When you have the right toothbrush, it will be easier to get your teeth nice and clean. If you aren't sure about what brand would work best, you can try out a few different toothbrushes until you find the one that is the perfect fit for you.
